Taking time out for fun helps build teams and a sense of connection in the workplace. I went to a workshop given by a member of The Fun Department. He encouraged us to create a 'Fun Committee' in our workplace. I spoke with my manager about it, and as a result, we have 'Fun Committee' within our team of nine staff members. Once a month, a different staff member comes up with an activity for the team to do. It has been alot of fun!
Fun ideas include:
Holiday celebrations
Summer Luau Potluck
Office Olympics
Decorating co-workers cubicles (tastefully)
Decorating cookies
Going out to a movie
Team lunches
Afternoon walk and talk
Scavenger Hunt
